Thanks for the comment John – I’m sure I heard somewhere that usually the BBC are exempt from paying record royalties and can pretty much play what they like, but I can’t seem to find any confirmation of that now…

Thats not all they have sampled. Check out ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ by the Rolling Stones (Beggars Banquet 1968). This struck me at the end of epiode 4 series 2, as an oldie I hear so many “samples” these days that I should be charging for copyright infringement consultancy

Whilst I am no fan of Michael Buble, man or music, nauseating in both areas…to be fair, I don’t think he said “I am more popular than Jesus”. What he did say was “I’m more popular than Jesus. Not Jesus Christ but the one that Madonna has been dating!”
